About the book: (pocket book – 32 pages colorful with photos of ex-TB/HIV patients)
Stigma, fatalism and depression are common problems in people with TB and HIV co-infection which cause non-adherence to TB treatment. The book aims to improve adherence by providing knowledge about TB/HIV and presenting the real case studies with patients’ photos (before and after completing TB treatment) including an orphan girl, three female and two male patients.
The Ministry of Public Health reproduced and distributed the book countrywide..
In 2006, Chevron Company translated the book into Myanmar and Cambodian languages. The Global Fund Thailand (by Rak Thai Foundation) reproduced the book in 2011

2007: HIV Testing for life…HIV testing for all tuberculosis patients: An entry
point for tuberculosis patients to access HIV prevention and care.
About the book: (74 pages colorful with photos of ex-TB/HIV patients, pictures)
In 2005 WHO and the UNAIDS recommended HIV testing for every TB patient. Practically however, TB clinic staff were lack of HIV counseling skill while the HIV counselors were afraid of getting TB from the patients during providing HIV counseling. For patients side, stigma and inability to cope with HIV discouraged TB patients to accept the HIV testing. In 2006 THRF developed this book based on the published literatures and the real case studies.
Part 1 : Research evidences supporting why HIV testing for all TB patients is needed and how HIV testing can lead to the interventions which can
reduce death due to HIV.
Part 2: How TB clinic staff successfully convinced HIV testing for TB patients on voluntary basis? The nine case studies covering male, female, young
and .senior TB patients.
Annexes : TB and TB/HIV knowledge
The Ministry of Public Health reproduced and distributed the book countrywide.
In 2007 the World Health Organization supported the translation and printed the book in English..

2010: Let me wipe your tears and touch your heart…A memory of volunteers working with people affected by TB and TB/HIV in Thailand
About the book: (pocket book –50 pages colorful artwork)
The book presents stories of eight patient volunteers’ best practices and the volunteers’ most inspiring experiences in caring for people with TB and TB with HIV co-infection (TB/HIV). These patients were not only physically suffering from the diseases but they also encountered social, economic and psychological difficulties that often left them feeling hopeless, depressed and at times with little or no motivation to live. However, the patient volunteers depicted in these stories turned these patients’ crisis into opportunities. Many of the patients in the end were cured from TB and thus empowered to live. Some of the patients became volunteers themselves. Although a few of the patients died during the course of their TB treatment, as a result of the volunteers dedication all of these patients died with a measure of dignity that they had never known before
